A daughter of a farm laborer, Marie Grace of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya had endured all kinds of life difficulties during her childhood together with her five siblings. Marie Grace did have big dreams for her future, but seeing her education run short, she buried those dreams. And these made her more motivated to achieve a better life, a better living.
Marie Grace, now 38 years old, got married to Agusto Pasco in 1989. As usual for a wedding, the couple were given money from their friends and families for a good start in their new life together. Besides buying a refrigerator, they saw the opportunity to start a small retail business with the money as seed funding. They are blessed with two children, Jensen Carl, 17, and Angelo, 12. Determined as ever, they took good care of the store for the sake of their children and time after time were able to expand it.
Eventually, it became so big that the other store owners around encouraged Marie Grace be a wholesaler. Marie Grace got to know about the micro finance products of ASKI in 2014. She took her first loan of Php50,000 to venture wholesaling business. She took the chance and expanded. They bought a van to be able to deliver large amount of groceries to the villages nearby. Today, they are running a very successful business.
She is thankful for the additional money and the diminishing interest rate that ASKI offers, and proves herself a good client. With an expanding income she can start dreaming again – of a good future for and with her children, a fulfillment also of her own dreams.
