When he learnt about ASKI’s WASH loan program from his brother-in-law, Mr. Isaias Espinar, 51 years of age, and a resident of Barangay Estrella, Rizal Nueva Ecija availed a loan amounting to Ps 20,000.00 with a purpose of building comfort room and to have a source of water (Jetmatic).
Before, Isaias and his family used the same comfort room together with his brother in law using hand pump as their source of water.
Fortunately, great opportunity has come to them. Through WASH program’s loan product, they were able to avail a loan for the construction of comfort room and jetmatic pump. He once said “mas dumali ang pagkuha ng tubig, ‘di na nakakapagod at ‘di na din kami nakiki-cr, mas mahal nga lang sa kuryente” (It is now easier and more comfortable. Now, we don’t need to make use of other’s toilet, the only problem is the increased electricity bill) Isaias shares as he laughs.
