ASKI MBA holds Annual General Assembly
The ASKI Mutual Benefit Association held its Annual General Assembly on March 14, 2014 at the ASKI Headquarters in Cabanatuan City.
It was attended by 105 participants from different provinces covering the areas of operation of ASKI.
Aside from the reports from the President and Treasurer of the ASKI MBA, the activity also served as an avenue to elect new Board of Trustees whose term will expire this year. The MBA Coordinators elected three new Board Members (two from Region 3 and one from Region 1).
The newly elected Board Members were Mrs. Imelda Oro representing Tarlac and Pangasinan (Camiling Branch), Mrs. Peregrina Abelar for Bulacan (San Rafael Branch) and Mr. Alfredo Astrero for Nueva Ecija (Rizal Branch).
The activity was graced by APPEND Partylist Congressman Atty. Pablo Nava III. In his message, Cong. Nava gave an update on his works in the Congress. He mentioned that although he is new in Congress, he is doing his best to promote the welfare of the microentrepreneurs by sponsoring bills and lobbying to his fellow lawmakers to support the Microfinance Code of the Philippines.
Cong. Nava also added that there were already seven proposed bills in the lower and upper house that will benefit the small, micro and medium entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, ASKI Executive Director Rolando B. Victoria said that MBA Coordinators were chosen because God has a plan for them. He also asked the participants to be ambassadors of ASKI and spread what ASKI is doing in their respective communities.
ASKI MBA was created on June 21, 2006 to extend micro-insurance assistance to its members in the form of death benefits, medical subsidies, pension and loan redemption assistance directly.
