ASKI wins anew in international sustainable finance award
ASKI was again recognized in the 2016 Karlsruhe Sustainable Finance Award on July 14 in Karlsruhe, Germany.
ASKI was awarded with “Best Innovation in Financial Services” for its success in promoting renewable energy in rural communities. ASKI promotes the use of solar lamps in rural communities and solar water pumps for irrigation and introduced the biogas project for hog raisers in Bulacan.
ASKI’s renewable energy program is aimed at improving the socio-economic status of marginalized sectors and individuals through the responsible, efficient and effective use of energy; increasing productive use of renewable energy in domestic and livelihood like micro, small and medium entrepreneurs and farmers and fisher folk; increasing awareness and knowledge of technology and their corresponding cost and benefits for domestic and livelihood.
This is now the fourth year that ASKI is being recognized by the European Organization for Sustainable Development, Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific and the City of Karlsruhe.
