This program encourages the borrowers to form groups in order to avail of loans for income-generating projects. It integrates community organizing intosocio-economic activities of clients thereby promoting unity, cooperation, shared-leadership, and program extends collateral-free loans, which are available to the very poor in the communities. In place of collateral, self-help groups employ peer pressure and mutual-guarantee.
