Hundreds of microentrepreneurs attend ASKI's Client Retailers' Convention
More than 400 ASKI clients from different towns and cities of Nueva Ecija gathered in the 1st ASKI Client Retailers' Convention last February 21 at the Talavera Agricultural and Social Enterprise Training Center.

One of the major highlights of the event was the introduction of "ASKI Pabili Mobile App" - a new project partnership of ASKI Multi-purpose Cooperative and LikeCash Asia & the Pacific Corporation.

The project aims to help the retailers enjoy the convenience of ordering supplies without leaving or closing their businesses just to purchase additional products in wholesale grocery stores. Using the mobile app, users can now order online and the AMPC will deliver the requested supplies and at a cheaper price.

Ms. Joy Munsayac-Cacal, public relations and sustainability manager of Coca-Cola Philippines shared during her message the long-time partnership of ASKI and Coke started in 2012 for the Coke-STAR (Sari-Sari Store Training and Access to Resources) Program where ASKI is one of their partners to reach the goal of training 200,000 women microentrepreneurs. Coca-Cola Philippines is one of the major sponsors of the activity.

Meanwhile, the convention also served as an avenue to forge a new partnership between ASKI and Sunlife of Canada Philippines for the implementation of Brighter500k program. This new program is for all ASKI clients, non-clients, staff and their relatives and those who are interested to avail the insurance for a yearly premium of P2,500. In return, the beneficiaries will receive P500,000 in case of accident or natural death.

With this intervention, it will help in providing the future needs of the beneficiaries and ensure that they can provide a decent burial for their loved ones since the Philippines is known as one of the countries where dying is becoming too expensive.

"It is overwhelming to know that we are one in our mission of helping our fellow Filipinos. Maraming salamat sa tiwala at pagkakataon na makatuwang kayo sa ating bagong programa [Thank you for the trust and the opportunity to work with you in this new program]. The best is yet to come. Tulungan nating gabayan ang ating mga miyembro tungo sa isang maliwanag na buhay [Let us guide our members towards a brighter life]," Sunlife of Canada Philippines President Alex Narciso said.

ASKI Group of Companies, Inc. President and CEO Rolando B. Victoria called on the attendees to join hand-in-hand to achieve the holistic development for the clients and the community. "Ipagmalaki natin na tayo ay ASKIan at magtulungan para sa ikatatagumpay ng mga programa ng ASKI sa inyong mga lugar. Hindi kami makikipagpartner sa mga organisasyon at mga ahensya na hindi namin kilala. Ang lahat ng aming gawain ay nakatuon sa iyong katagumpayan," [Let us be proud that we are all ASKIans and let us work together for the success of the ASKI programs in your respective communities. We will not partner with organizations and agencies whom we do not know. Our efforts are all geared in ensuring your success.], Mr. Victoria said.

Different programs of ASKI were also presented to create awareness among the participants such as the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Program, ISynergies, Inc. products and services, 2020 Operations Dashboard developed by Research and Development Department and other microinsurance programs under the ASKI Group of Companies, Inc.

Local officials led by Municipality of Talavera Mayor Nerivi Santos-Martinez and ABC President and Brgy. Sampaloc Captain Nerito Santos, Jr., members of the Board and senior officials of ASKI, Area and Branch Managers in Nueva Ecija and guests from different organizations also graced the whole-day event for the microentrepreneurs.
